What Motivated the Freedom Convoy 2022 Protests?
Governments Forget that the Truckers and the Transportation Industry is the Glue that holds our Society, Industry, and Commerce Together!!
The Convoy was organized in very short order after a Federal Government Mandate was imposed on Truckers crossing the U.S Border, Demanding that they all be Vaccinated, when 90% of them were already vaccinated.
This, after they have been operating successfully for over two years of Covid Lock down.
Truckers can readily operate effectively as they are quarantined in the Cab of their Truck.
Our Supply Chain had already been stretched thin with too few truckers, as many of them had given up because of Regulations, Hours of Service, Measured in Hours, while Being paid by the Mile, Grid lock, Border Agents, and Paperwork. Also, for some, Family Time which in some cases was being neglected.
This latest unnecessary Covid Mandate on the Truckers was the straw that Broke the Camel’s Back, so to speak.
I am not a big supporter of Strikes, but something needed to be done.
Other Restrictions on Canadians has Created the Movement which is getting Broad Ranging Support, not only in Canada, but around the world.
- What about partner nurses who have been terminated when they have not agreed to get vaccinated, after working the last two years in difficult circumstances? Now they get terminated, when there is a shortage of nurses.
- What about the Unvaccinated Truckers who also worked the last two years, and are essentially self-isolating by the nature of their job, and now cannot cross the Border.
- What about other employees who got terminated because they don’t want the vaccines, and may have stronger, natural immunity through having had Covid.
- What about Small Business and their employees who have had to shut down, re-mortgage their Homes to Survive, or Cash in their RRSP’s. About 10% have gone bankrupt, and where do they get a job?
- Children being forced to wear masks, and not enjoying the benefits of school and interpersonal development?
- Many of these people have had Covid and their immunity is far better than ours, with vaccine shots, They Get No Recognition, and They Can’t Get a Passport.
- What about the Deaths due to Suicides, Delayed Operations, Delayed Cancer Treatments, Mental Breakdowns, Substance Abuse, Divorces?
- And here is the Cruncher:
John Hopkins University indicates that Lock downs have had no positive effect on the outcomes. Lockdowns only reduced COVID deaths by 0.2 per cent, Johns Hopkins study finds ‘We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had any noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality'.
So, in essence, through our wonderful science, we have allowed Big Box Stores and large Companies to operate, and generate large profits, while shutting down and destroying small business, with No Real Benefit.
Did I mention many Doctors have come out with the fact that as many as 75% of the 35,000 Canadian Deaths from Covid 19 could have been prevented, if Therapeutics had been used to treat patients immediately upon testing positive? Therapeutics like Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, Fluvoxamine or Monoclonal antibody treatment, even Viagra, Aspirins or similar.
The National Institute of Health in the U.S has a $52 Billion Dollar Budget. They could cure Cancer if they wanted with that kind of money!!! Do you suppose Big Pharma is beholding to the NIH?
Did anyone hear of remedies or treatments, being promoted in Canada? Doctors were not allowed to promote early remedies, or they could lose their license to practice.
The Chart below indicates those who are familiar with the use of Hydroxychloroquine have reduced their Death Rate dramatically, as it has been used for the treatment of Malaria.
Need I mention 82% of deaths from the variant were of people 70 years old, or older, and probably with some kind of other health issue like Obesity, Diabetes, Heart problems, etc. so why did we shut down schools and small business?
No wonder there is frustration and the Truckers triggered the Fight for Freedom!
Big Pharma have been the Big Winners in this Shut down!!! And the Government and Health Canada are Complicit, by not advocating early treatment.
Canadians have lots of Frustrations with Governments and
Health Officials, and the Truckers with their Freedom
Convoy Caught the Wave.
- High Federal, Provincial, and Consumer Debt.
- Regulations Restricting Development in the West, Bills C-48 and Bill C-69.
- Inflation, Topped with High Gas Prices.
- High Housing Prices, Limiting Affordability.
- Grid Lock around Toronto as only the rich can afford HWY 407.
- Carbon Taxes when China and India continue to build Coal Fired powerplants.
- Cost of Electricity in Ontario due to the introduction of intermittent Wind and Solar for which we pay a premium.
- Canada Reaches $15 Billion Settlement with Indigenous Peoples, Jan 2022, why, when 57% of the 1.67 million total Indigenous population work off the Reserve.
- And an overall Reduction in our Standard of Living, caused by poor Governance.
Note the GDP per Capita.
And we Shut Schools and Small Business Down, and for Small Business, it killed their Revenue Streams. What will future economic Growth look like with Inflation and higher interest rates on the horizon?

Do Canadians have the right to be frustrated with their governments? I think So!!!
Trudeau could solve the Canadian Cross Border portion of the problem by Eliminating the Vaccine Mandate, at least for Truckers, but, just as important. Eliminate the Mandates for Everyone.
This is all about Power and Control by our Politicians!!!
We need to Fight for our Freedom. The Older Europeans, and our War Veterans understand what Freedom Means, many of this Generation does not.
