In its 2019 budget, the Federal Government rolled out nearly $600 million in subsidies for select media outlets that obtain the Federal Government’s approval.

On Aug. 8, 2020, the Star was taken Private by 3 individuals with strong Liberal political ties, for $52 Million.

The Globe & Mail’s majority ownership is Woodbridge Company Ltd., owner of the information services company Thomson Reuters. (Market Cap $40 Billion).

Post Media includes, National Post, Financial Post, and 123 other Brands, including the Sun, and is Canada's largest newspaper company, and shares about 80 per cent of its ownership with controversial America American Media Inc.

Do you really think these companies need $600 Million of Government Support versus finding their own solutions to prosperity? Is there no respect for Taxpayers?

The Media has been Compromised when it comes to Supplying Critical Information on the Actions and Directions of the Liberal Government.

The Media is now Complicit in any Detrimental Government Actions. They are no longer an Independent Source of Information!

Canadian Print and Online Media cannot help but be supportive of the Liberal Government. How can you dare bite the hand that feeds you?

The Elephant of Government Media Control is obviously the CBC, with an annual bill to taxpayers well in excess of $1 billion.

Where a Media Outlet stands on the issues is important in helping Canadians understand the issues of the day, and now they are Compromised!

When every major media outlet in Canada is directly on the government take, this cannot help but influence their coverage toward issues. 

Can the National Post, CBC, CTV or Toronto Star credibly make the case against the next Bombardier bailout, if it is receiving an annual, guaranteed bailout of its own?

Can these Media Outlets properly balance their views on Fossil Fuels, Climate Change, Pipelines, or the Climate Emergency, (Elimination of Single Use Plastic), Indigenous People’s or Government Transfer Payments?

And are the media organizations that are already receiving government-backing (like CBC, CTV and Global) immune from the influence of being on government support? 

Name one of them that is even mildly Conservative or libertarian?

This is a sad state of affairs!! We need other sources of information, and to share this information with other Canadians.

To this end, I have developed the www.HelpDevelopCanada.ca website to hopefully indicate Positive Directions for Canada, and question Government Direction on other issues. Information that will stay in place on the web for many to see.

Further, Trudeau has created a “Task Force for Resilient Recovery” made up of a hand- Picked Group that is a Grab-Bag of Professional Liberals, Green Activists, Former Civil Servants and Self- Described Social Entrepreneurs whose Business Models are all about Getting Grants and Subsidies. Not a Single Business Person was included on the task force list. All with a $55.4 Billion Budget of Borrowed Money! Will this generate any profits or payback?

This will all be at the Expense of the Canadian Economy, and the Canadian Taxpayer, when we should be Developing our Natural Resources and Building Industry!
