Western Frustrations

“When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you - When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - You may know that your society is doomed.”
Ayn Rand,
Atlas Shrugged, 1957

Alberta has been stifled with obstruction in terms of building out their Resource Industries.

Two Specific Bills have shut in Alberta Resources:

  • Bill C-69, a train wreck of politically correct nonsense, passed last year.
  • It will impose onerous consultative and other burdens that will severely hobble all energy projects in future. It grants power to the environment minister — not the minister of natural resources — over fossil fuel, mining, nuclear, pipeline, and rail transportation projects.

  • Bill C-48, which legally enforces a moratorium on oil tankers in northern B.C.
  • The Senate passed these two controversial natural resource bills into law, just one day after it quietly passed a third bill that reinforced a ban on offshore oil drilling in the Canadian Arctic, quashing any future oil and gas development in the region.
Canada is dependent on Natural Resources! How dependent? The industry is by far the largest contributor to both GDP and Net Export Revenue, which are each over $100 billion per year.

And Alberta has long been the largest net contributor to Ottawa’s coffers, totalling $95 billion more money sent than money received from 2014 to 2018, more than all other provinces put together.

The $83-billion revenue drop in former finance minister Bill Morneau’s July 8 “fiscal snapshot” shows why growing Ottawa’s most important revenue source, Natural Resources, is so critical.

The snapshot projected an astonishing $343-billion deficit. Two days later, the government announced employment insurance system changes that will cost $37 billion, taking the deficit to $380 billion.

Further spending escalation is a certainty, including help for stretched provincial health-care budgets, cities unable to fund public transportation and hard-hit business sectors.

It’s now clear that our National Debt will exceed $1.2 trillion, twice what it was when the Liberals came to power in 2015.

Statistics Canada data shows that, since the election of the Trudeau government in 2015, investment in 10 of our 15 major business sectors has dropped by 17 per cent, as both Canadian and foreign investors have fled.

More than $185 billion in Investment left the country.

This exodus mirrored sharp drops in our performance in both the World Bank Ease of Doing Business Ranking, and the World Economic Forum Competitiveness Index.

Canada’s strong employment rate over this period was driven by unsustainable deficit spending, not private-sector investment.

All Canadians should be frustrated and aware of how this Trudeau Government has disrupted our Economy in favor of a Green New Deal, supported by Carbon taxes, which have had no effect on the reduction of C02, but only makes us less competitive.

Trudeau has a team of Environmentalists under Gerald Butts, pursuing the impossible, with No Regard for Jobs, our Economic Growth or our Budget Deficit.

Besides, Trudeau has created a “Task Force for a Resilient Recovery” made up of a Hand-Picked Task Force that is a Grab-Bag of Professional Liberals, Green Activists, Former Civil Servants and Self-Described Social Entrepreneurs whose Business Models are all about Getting Grants and Subsidies.

Not a Single Business Person was included on the list of task force members.

Any plans this Task Force will have, will involve Government Expenditures and Non-Profit Enterprises.

It is time for a New Government and a New Direction. Hopefully Erin O’Toole has a better plan, and our plan is to influence him.

Bill C-69 and Bill C-48 must be Rescinded. How could Parliament and the Senate pass these Bills in good conscience?

These Bills have Created Division in the Country, More Unemployment, Lost Trade, Lower GDP, and Higher Debt, all for what purpose?

Socialists, like Trudeau, and their Climate Emergency, along with Green Energy Aspirations to meet a ridiculous Paris Climate Accord are driving Canada into Division, and Recession.

We could be destroyed, by Socialists, like a previously rich Country Venezuela, now with an Inflation Rate of over 2000%.

We need Fossil Fuels. Wind and Solar as proven in Ontario does not cut it, but only makes us less competitive, and an unreliable source of power, necessarily backed up by gas. This is readily demonstrated by “rolling blackouts” in California, which relies on Solar Power.

We need your help to get Bill C-69 and Bill C-48 rescinded, along with the Elimination of the Carbon Tax. Let’s make it happen! Contribute NOW! Share this Article and Contact your MP from the list below.

Why are we shutting in our Oil and Gas production, and Reducing our Exploration Investments, when the World still needs more Fossil Fuels?

Trudeau is destroying Canada as we know it, through a Globalist and Socialist Agenda with the Government Funded Projects resulting in Higher Taxes, and Higher Trade Deficits, as we Block our Oil Exports, with Bills C-48 and Bill 69 hurting our Balance of Payments and resulting in Country Discontent.
